Hi there!

We’re James and Ellen, founders of Run Rooster Run.

James and Ellen Martinson founders of Run Rooster Run

That’s us above…

We created Run Rooster Run by accident after we decided to join the RV Lifestyle in 2019 and soon got a quick dose in reality about just how little we knew about the nuts and bolts of living a nomadic lifestyle.

We were determined to do something different than just live out that boring day to day life and longed to travel and spend time together now that we were empty nesters.

The thought of waiting until “traditional retirement” to travel etc. just seemed too far away.

We believed that the RV Life might be the ticket to a life of freedom and adventure.

Being able to rely on Ellen’s remote work and my freelance business we knew we could make it with the reduced expenses of living in an RV.

However…

We enjoy traveling in our Open Range 319RLS and Ford F-250

We also learned that it isn’t always smooth sailing with these RVs.

Have you heard they tend to break quite a bit?

Being a handy person, I did the work myself. Washing, waxing, caulking, repairing, etc.

It wasn’t long before other owners in the park were asking me for help and advice with their rigs.

Before long, I had a nice little RV Detail and Repair business going. This business helps fund the lifestyle we enjoy.

Since beginning, I get lots of questions about living full-time in an RV and joining what we refer to as “the life.”

If you ended up here, chances are you might have some questions about this life too. This section of the website is just for you!

Before we bought an RV, my wife and I consumed tons of content.

We watched countless YouTube videos. We spent hours surfing the web reading forum posts from other full-timers.

Once we got into our RV, we realized that there was so much we didn’t know and that the content we read…well lets just say that it didn’t paint the full picture.

I wanted to grow an online community that was better and shared the how and the why of joining the RV full-time community.

We also want to show you how to use this lifestyle as a vehicle to conquer retirement and take back our power and choices from an uncertain corporate fueled future.

One that genuinely provided clear concise information to help you the RV enthusiast get the information you need to make sound decisions about all aspects of living life “on the road.”

So, What Kind of Community is Run Rooster Run?

Run Rooster Run dedicates itself to providing you with content that answers 3 Core Questions, will it:

  1. Add value to the RV Community?
  2. Empower you to take action?
  3. Help people enjoy the RV Lifestyle on their terms?

This is what guides every piece of content we post.

So… if this is your first time to the site, here’s how you can immediately get the most out of it:

STEP ONE: Sign Up for Weekly Updates

As a subscriber you’ll get a notification every time a new article posts.

Plus, instant updates on things going on in the RV industry I learn as I purchase parts and deal with others in the RV industry (delivered right to your email inbox).

STEP TWO: Check Out These Must-Read Articles

We curated these articles specifically to jump-start your RV lifestyle experience and to help you decide if it is even something you should consider.

I (James) spent a huge part of my  professional career becoming an expert in standardizing procedures and creating systems that eliminate problems and unpleasant surprises from the equation for large corporations.

These are the articles that will help you do the same:

STEP THREE: Follow Run Rooster Run on Social Media

You say…

I’m already subscribed… why should I follow you on social media?

Let me give you a couple of reasons:

  • The content is different over on social.

It’s much easier to fire off a quick post on Facebook or Instagram and have a discussion than formatting a fully formatted article.

  • Plus, I often share great valuable content from the very best in the industry.

Subscribe to YouTube here (I don’t make videos, maybe someday? But I create playlists of videos that can really help save you time from searching all over to find what you need to know and more importantly…What actually works!)

… and follow us on Facebook here and Instagram here

STEP FOUR: Participation Counts!

Just so you know, a big corporation with its focus groups isn’t running this site… it’s just us.

On top of that, the majority of the content I post here is 100% free.

That being said, I need your help:

  • Leave a comment on an article (comments can be found at the end of every post)
  • Drop an email letting me know what you like and what you’d like to see in the future (here)
  • Share this content with others who you think will benefit from it (social share buttons float at the bottom of every post)

LAST STEP, Take Some Action…

Close the Laptop, put down your tablet, and Go DO SOMETHING:

I promise you’re going to feel a sense of pride and satisfaction when you take on a project yourself. There may be something you are unable or uncomfortable doing from a safety standpoint. I understand that. At the very least, this knowledge will help you ask the right questions, hire the right people, and hold them accountable for doing the it the right way.

Good luck and Happy Camping!
